UGR: Tell us about what’s been going on with D. Black?
Really just music, school, graduating and work. Focusing on creating a better life and artist within myself and behind closed doors. Taking the opportunity to guarantee that all aspects of business are covered to protect the things I expect to come in the future.
UGR: Where do you see yourself fitting into the current music scene?
I don’t see myself fitting in. And the reason being. It’s a lot of alike pieces right now. And my job is to do my best to be original and standout.
UGR: What new artists have you been listening to lately?
I’ve been listening to Kevin Gates, Macklemore, Watch The Duck, August Alsina, KD, Young Cocky outta Chicago, Wale, J. Cole, Mojokezz, Land Pilots, Kendrick Lamar and me! It takes a lot to be original these days so when there is an artist or artists to be original or have their own sound they deserve to be supported.
UGR: Where do you see the sound of Mississippi being 5 years from now?
I hear the sound being deafening in 5 years and what I mean by that is that its really artist and producers who are striving to present an original sound for Mississippi and for themselves. And in 5 years from now those artists and producers will be undeniable.
UGR: What are 3 of your favorite albums?
Kendrick Lamar “Good Kid, Maad City,” Ludacris “Word of Mouf “ signed…
UGR: What should we be looking for in the future from Dolla Black and BDE?
A lot of new great work. Features. A lot of legendary material, events, and visuals from me, Black Dolla Entertainment, and A_V_E Enterprises.
